I know what you are thinking… Michael Vick a Denver Bronco? I don’t think so. I say, why not? Why not bring in a guy who could be a third quarterback or coached to play another position. Here are my reasons why the Broncos should sign Mike Vick.1) In running situations, Vick could be put in with one of many talented backs on the Broncos roster. The options that open up for the Broncos would be endless with Vick. QB draws, perhaps an option type play, or Vick could even fake the run and pass. He gives the Broncos another weapon to make up for the inability to run with the two other quarterbacks.
2) He has something to prove. With signing Vick, you don’t have to worry about whether he will work hard or not. We all know he has much to prove and like any other player in the NFL, he is a competitor. He is only 29 years old and with some coaching and conditioning, Vick could be just as good with Denver as he was with Atlanta.
3) He deserves a second chance. What he did was bad, but he paid his dues and deserves to play for the NFL again. Even after 2 years in jail, he will still have to sit out the first 6 games of the season but by then he should be ready to get on the field again. Commissioner Godell even said if he were an owner of a NFL team he would sign Vick.
The Broncos would most likely have to deal with the idiots of PETA for a little bit but winning will get rid of any distraction there may be. He has already been doing things with the humane society and showing that he cares. Now’s the time to give him that second chance, but if it doesn’t work out, you could always just cut him…
