The end was the beginning

Let down, disappointed, confused… Just a few words how I felt after last night’s game.  By far, this was the worst game the Nuggets played all year.  Not just the playoffs, but through the whole season, I don’t remember a game this bad.  Now, if I compared last nights game with any game last year, then this type of game would have been expected.  They way the Nuggets played all year at home and the playoffs, this just didn’t make sense to me.

They were not physical the whole series.  They did not play the type of ball they played in the first two rounds.  Maybe because they thought they wouldn’t be able to get away with it since it was the Lakers.  Or they thought they could beat them straight up.  Who knows, but in order to get back to this point next year, they have to stay physical.

The bench just can’t wake up when they want to, mostly at home.  They need to be as effective on the road as they are at home.  They are too talented to play like that and if they want to play that way, get the number 1 seed next year so you don’t have to worry about playing more road games then home.

Now for the free agent situation for this summer.  The Nuggets have two restricted free agents, Linas Kleiza and Johan Petro.  Their unrestricted free agents are Chris Andersen, Anthony Carter, Jason Hart, Steven Hunter, and Dahntay Jones.

Now, what should the Nuggets do this offseason?  Obviously, re-sign the bird.  I’m sure that is a first priority for the Nuggets.  I don’t think money matters to him as much as it did before he was suspended for drugs, but the Nuggets will take care of him.  Re-sign Dahntay Jones.  He was a defensive force that would be great to have coming off the bench.  I say off the bench because I predict J.R. will be starting next season.  AC, sorry old pal, but we need a more consistent back up point to Chauncey.  Maybe re-sign AC, but he can’t be the first backup to Billups.  I think the Nuggets will try to keep LK.  Even though he had a poor season, he was very good against the Lakers in this last series and that may have saved him from not getting any type of offer from the Nuggets.  Petro, Hart, and Hunter will be looking for new homes.

Like I said, AC cannot be the first backup to Chauncey so I feel the Nuggets need to go out and get someone.  It should be someone young, someone that Chauncey can teach and coach to be an elite point guard in the NBA.  Looking through all the free agents, I couldn’t pick.  Here’s the scoop on free agents for this summer and the all mighty summer of 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=freeagents-09-10

My first thoughts on next year’s Nugget team.  Will they be angry?  Yes.  Will they be hungry?  Yes.  Will they be better than this year?  Yes, I think so.  They learned a lot this season and post season on how to play basketball the right way.  Will we see the Nuggets in the NBA finals next year?  Yes.

Thank you Nuggets for a great season, we all can’t wait for next season!  GO NUGGETS!

Goin out in style

Notice the giant ring on Clint's finger.  The only glimmer of his time in Colorado.  The other seasons were forgetfull.  Now, in with interim manager Jim Tracy.

I got the images from slingbox (cuz im to broke to buy cable) and just captured pics as the press conference went on.  Comment on what you think of the change!

Lakers/Nuggets Game 6 Preview

7:00 pm

Pepsi Center

Denver, CO

Lakers @ Nuggets TONIGHT! I’m feeling good about this series. As disappointed as I was yesterday, I really feel good about the rest of the series. Although I picked the Nuggets in 6, they are going to have to get this in 7. Tonight’s game will be a fairly easy win for the Nuggets. I know, there’s no easy win in the playoffs, yea, but we’re playing the Lakers and they will roll over tonight and think that they will have a chance on their home court. WRONG. Not gunna happen L.A. After we beat you tonight, we’re gunna go back to L.A. and beat you on your home floor and happily destroy the hopes and dreams of David Stern and ESPN. That’s right, Magic vs Nuggets NBA Finals starting June 4th on ABC. Make your calendars. The Lakers can not keep up with the Nuggets when the Nuggets are playing their style and energy of basketball. We all know the Nuggets play with full energy at home. When they take that energy to L.A. and run the Lakers out of Staples Center, the whole basketball world will know who the Denver Nuggets are.

Clint Hurdle vs. the others

My point is clear as glass! Compare Clint Hurdle’s losing records with other coaches here in Colorado.

Clint hurdle, Colorado Rockies, 2002-Present .461 WP
George Karl, Denver Nuggets, 2004-Present .631 WP
Mike Shanahan, Denver Broncos, 1995-2008, .616 WP
Joel Quenneville, Colorado Avalanche, 2005-2008, .532 WP

My point being, look at the caliber of coaches that were in trouble of being fired or were fired with WINNING records wile in town. The only one who has gotten away with losing is Clint Hurdle! .461 winning percentage and it should be lower if it were not for the fluke of 2007! Get him out of here! Really, if this is how the Rockies are going to run a managerial job, were do I apply?! If he can get away with consistent losing, I sure could too and I’ll tell you what, I could use that paycheck too. Make Jim Tracy the interim coach and re-evaluate from there. The only team in town that settles for losing is the Rockies. STOP GOING TO THE GAMES! The boycott continues!

Nuggets game 5 and the ticking time bomb

Well, what we saw last night was not the Lakers beating the Nuggets, but the Nuggets beating themselves.  The Nuggets up 7 at one point in the third completely fell apart and stopped playing the way they played in game 4.  4 straight turnovers, starting 0-9 in the 4th, that’s all it took for the game to get away from the Nuggets.

I find it so frustrating when I watch these games!  The Nuggets are by far the better team and with no help from the whistle, shoot themselves in the foot when they could have won the series.  I know last night’s game was not a close out game, but if the Nuggets would have found a way to protect the ball and keep attacking the rim, they would have won that game and there would have been no way that L.A. would be able to win in Denver.

Nuggets really shot themselves in the foot last night and could have won that game.  More thoughts on tomorrow’s game, well, tomorrow!

Now, calling the Colorado Rockies disappointing so far this season is an understatement.  I didn’t expect them to do anything, maybe contend for the wild card, but not much more.  To say I would have thought the Rockies would be 14 games out and it’s not June?  That is unacceptable.   I have followed the Rockies for a very long time and this is the worst start of a season I have ever seen and as of right now, 9:54am on May 28, 2009 Clint Hurdle still has a job.  I have read lots of speculation so far this morning that many un-named players are expecting Clint to get the ole’ boot.  If you have read any of my other posts on the Rockies or Clint Hurdle, you know I have been calling not only him out, but Dan O’dowd who has built this mound of crap we call the Colorado Rockies and pitching coach Bob Apodaca.  There is no excuse to be 14 games back in May.  Major shake ups in the front office need to be made now.  Tank the season, I mean, it’s basically tanked anyways, no use in keeping anyone who is responsible for creating it.  I now see why the Rockies are always question giving players big money or long term contracts, look at how HORRIBLE Troy Tulowitzki has played since he signed a nice contract after the 2007 World Series run.  He has done nothing and needs to get his head right.  I could rant and rave about this all day.  All I have to say is, Clint Hurdle should be gone by days end and if he is not, people NEED to STOP going to Coors Field and giving this moron owners money.  They don’t care about us as fans, so we shouldn’t care about them as owners of a Major League Baseball team.

Nuggets Game 5 Preview and ... well, the Rockies

Here we go again, game 5 tonight at 7 Mountain Time in Los Angeles.  What Nuggets team will come out to play tonight?  Game 3 Nuggets or game 4 Nuggets?  I think the game 4 Nuggets will be coming out tonight in full force tonight at put their foot on the Lakers throat.  This of course would set up a close out game on Friday night for game 6. (This of course, is what I predicted)  Anyways, the Nuggets youth and style of play are wearing out the Lakers and after tonight, they will not have a chance.  We are too physical for the softy Lakers and so much in their heads it’s not even funny.  What the Nuggets need to do tonight?

1. Close the quarter.  The Nuggets have to play their best ball tonight in the last 2 minutes of each quarter.  If we have a lead, we need to extend it.  The Nuggets should play this game as if it were a close out game.  Take the will away from the Lakers and the talent will take over and beat the Lakers.

2. Bench Play.  We need the bench play we got in game 4.  We need J.R. Smith playing strong defense and hitting big shots when we need them the most.  LK needs more playing time, he’s proven this series that he can be trusted and is making the difference.  The 2 games we have won so far this series, LK has had a significant impact on the game, weather it may be hitting big 3 pointers or grabbing rebounds and playing D.

3.  Melo has to be better.  I know he was sick last game but we cannot have another game where he is a non factor.  He is the star and needs to play like it tonight.  He doesn’t need to score 30 like he has been, he just needs to play a good game of basketball.  20 points, 5

assist, and 10 rebounds.  Get those second chance points; pass the ball to the open J.R. or Chauncey after you drive the lane.  Doing the little things will lead to big plays.

We all know that the Lakers have been complaining about the calls and the NBA knows it.  They assessed Jones with a flagrant 1 after “tripping” Kobe in game 4.  I was happy to see that one Phillip Jackson was fined $25,000 by the NBA for complaining about the refs.  Nuggets win tonight, 101-99.

Now, to the Colorado Rockies, talk about opposite ends of the spectrum here, talking about the Nuggets to the Rockies.  The Rockies lost again to the Dodgers last night and as everyday passes, I scratch my head harder wondering how someone such as Clint Hurdle still is employed!  Congratulations Clint Hurdle, Dan O’dowd, and the Monferts.  We have the LARGEST division deficit in MLB.  13 games out and not even in June yet.  Now really, I don’t expect the Rockies to be that far back until at least the All Star break.  The type of baseball they are playing is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.  Why are people still walking in to Coors Field to watch this garbage?  I know im not and won’t

be any time soon, that’s for sure.  I’v heard rumors of Brad Hawpe on the selling table!  Yea, great idea Rockies, we suck, so lets get rid of one of our better talents.  Yea, yea, I bet we could get like 2 minor league prospects!  We only got 3 for Matt Holliday so we couldn’t get much more for Brad Hawpe.  Heres my plan.

1. Blow up the front office.  Fire everyone.  Start from scratch. Call up triple-A.

2. Help Todd Helton out of this furnace.  I feel so bad for Todd, he’s come back from a bad back problem and hitting the cover off the ball.  He’s doing everything he needs to and he gets nothing.  Trade Todd somewhere where they actually play to win some baseball games.  Where ever you go Todd, I’ll buy a hat.

3.  Is there a way, us as fans could maybe impeach the ownership and run these greedy idiots  out of Denver?  There has to be a way.  That’s right, STOP GOING TO THE GAMES!  Don’t go to the games, don’t buy merchandise, don’t give your hard earned money to these greedy idiots that don’t care what they put out on the field.  They just care about all that money that goes in their pocket.

Something must be done!

Nuggets win, but it was closer than you think

All in all this has been a hard fought series.  The Nuggets are being very physical with the Lakers and it is beginning to show.  They are very tired and not to say the Nuggets are not tired too, but the fact the Lakers had to play extra games against the Rockets, then had to play the high energy Nuggets has not helped them.  We tied the series last night with what looked to be a pretty commanding victory, 120-101.  The game though was much closer than it looks.  The Nuggets did control the game from the start.  The out played and out hustled the Lakers all night.  The most interesting thing was that Melo’ played his worst game of the season and we still won by 19.  Apparently he had a stomach virus and was sick before the game and he also had a bum ankle that obviously bothered him through the game.  Now, a couple things that annoy me more than anything, Melo, STOP GRIMMISING UP AND DOWN THE COURT!  If it really hurts that bad then sit on the bench and let someone like L.K. come in and be affective in the game.  I hate it because he obviously not 100% and so he’s hurting the team by shooting and missing open shots, not getting down court and making those faces.  It makes you look very weak Melo’ and if it’s that bad, sit down and trust your teammates.  J.R. played a great game, shooting, passing, and playing defense.  He was the difference maker in the game which helped lead to the win.  Now, the second thing that really had me steamed last night.  Kobe Bryant and his game long cry fest.  Any time this dude gets grazed, touched, or think he is fouled, he goes to the nearest ref. and cries about it.  Guess what, he also gets away with it too!  He can be screaming and screaming about a call he thinks should have been called and they just tell him to go away and basically “warn” him.  Right, and if that was any player on the Nuggets doing the same thing, the refs wouldn’t think twice about T’ing up one of our guys.  Kobe gets away with more than anyone in the league.  Everyone from the commissioner to the players have kissed his ass so much for so long, he just expects it now and gets it.  I’m glad Dahntay Jones is pushing Kobe as he drives and tripping him as he goes by, because he doesn’t care that he’s “Kobe,” he cares about playing his hardest, getting in the head of who he’s guarding, and showing up all these “starts” in these playoffs so far and making him remembered.  He is in Kobe’s head, no doubt about it.  Jones and the whole Nugget team are wearing this team down and if it gets to game 7, I don’t see how the Lakers would be able to keep up with the energy of the Nuggets, even though the Lakers will be at home.  The Nuggets can still get better.  They play with the type of effort and physicality that they played with last night, add a healthy Carmelo Anthony, and we win game 5 with ease.  Now I know I said in my last post that I didn’t think there would be hand double-digit wins this series and of course I say that and we win by 19.  It was closer than 19 points and the Nuggets should realize that and know that the Lakers could have just as easily come back in that game before they went off and started hitting 3’s to get that lead up past 15.  Play your ball Denver Nuggets and you will win this series in 6, but if it goes to 7, you got that.

This site is an all Colorado sports site, but lately I get really red when I start talking about the Rockies so I don't talk about them (unless they do the right thing and FIRE Clint Hurdle and Dan O'dowd.) but I am in full Nuggets mode right now.  Not much going on with the Broncos so far.  The Avalanche have offered multiple jobs to former goalie Patrick Roy.  On that, I hope Roy takes one, that may bring me back to watching hockey again (since I have not watched since he last played.)  The Rockies have the worst bullpen in the league.  The Broncos will be lucky if they go .500.  Thats really all I have to say about everything else in Colorado sports.

I would really appreciate any sort of feedback.  On my writing, my point of view, or what I am writing about.  Thanks for everything.

Jam it down their throats and Laker Fan cracks!

The place is Pepsi Center, Denver Colorado. The time will be 7pm mountain time and the victims will be the Los Angeles Lakers. My last prediction was completely wrong but could have been right if the keys to the game I laid out were meet. Either way, the Nuggets are down 1-2 and saying their tired? Im sorry, but if anyone should be tired it should be the Lakers! They were the team struggling to beat the Rockets and they are struggling to get past the Nuggets. We had the rest, we had the preparation and nothing has come together so far this series. The bench needs to step up, play team basketball, and play smart. We also need to get in the heads of the Lakers. They are such a soft team and any sort of moderate contact gets them complaining and gets them emotional. Look at Kobe. Anytime something doesn’t go his way, he looks like a kid that got his favorite toy taken away from him. Cry, cry, cry. If we can get in their head, draw technical fouls, and play the style of basketball the Nuggets played in the first two rounds, the Lakers will go out in no time. We are now forced to win another game in L.A. to get to the Finals. Everyone knew that the road to the Finals went through L.A. There’s no doubt that the Nuggets can win there. They have showed us this post season that they can win anywhere no matter what type of environment. Now, obviously L.A. is not like playing in Dallas. Nowhere close, L.A. is full of rich snobs who only go to the game to be shown on TV. I guess it’s the “thing” to do. This is how Laker fans days go. Wake up, drink diet shake, go to plastic surgeon, get Botox, check in with rehab, talk about how you will be attending the nights Lakers game because it is sooo trendy, then sit there, not watch the game and talk about how you have to get up extra early the next morning because your doctor could not get you in later for your daily face juicing. Please ESPN, I know tonight’s game is in Denver, and we don’t have to worry about that celebrity B.S. but when we get to game 5, stop going through the crowd, finding the “big celebs” because that’s what those camera whores want. Show the freaking game. Anyways, tonight is a must win for the Nugz. If they can play smart, fast, and physical, they will beat the Lakers. I won’t say double digits because I don’t think any game will be a double digit victory for anyone. Play smart and the rest will come. Go Nuggets! Let’s do this thing!

Major let down in game 3

Well, iv been doing a lot of thinking on last nights game. Usually I have a post up by now after a game, but last nights game had me so disappointed. My predictions I made were what the Nuggets needed to do last night to win the game.

1. LK didn't get the playing time he deserved. He played his best game of the season in game 2 and should have got more playing time in game 3. When he did play, he was hitting shots and making plays.

2. Melo played an inexcusable second half that lead to a defeat. He fouled out and got no where close to the 30 needed to win the game.

3. Chauncey turned the ball over too much.

Turning point in the game was J.R.'s taunting tech. foul. He hits the 3 at the buzzer, then talks mad garbage after word and gets the tech. After that, the Nuggets start the quarter 0-9 shooting the ball and let a lead go to waste. Missed 3-pointers killed us as well. Quick shots and too much one on one basketball did not help the Nuggets.

I don't want to complain about the officials, but the Lakers did get every call in the 4th and the Nuggets couldn't buy a call. Thats just a small problem they had last night. Really, I will talk more tomorrow on what needs to be done to win game 4. Ill say this, they HAVE TO WIN tomorrow to have a chance in this series. Thanks to all that read.. GO NUGGETS!

Game 3 Thoughts

Alright! We are about 2 hours from tip and thought I would post my final thoughts on the game tonight! Oh course, Pepsi center is going to be… well, insane and that could be an understatement. We know the crowd will be out in full force, how I wish I could be there, but that’s okay, I’ll be in front of my 42 inch High Def TV to watch, yell, and of course chew the rest of my finger nails off that are left from game 2. I expect the Nuggets to come out and dominate this game from start to finish. The energy will be there and if there is any team in the NBA that feeds of the crowd the most, it’s the Nuggets. My predictions for game 3.

1. The Nuggets Bench. Birdman, J.R., and Linas will be on fire and help with the dominance of the Lakers. Birdman has obviously played his best ball at home with the support he gets from the crowd by just standing up. J.R. of course will ball like he always does and I think Linas will hit some big shots when the Nuggets need it.

2. Melo gets his 6th 30 point game in a row. Melo has taken the next step in his career and will continue to just run over the Laker D. No one can stop him and he is an easy shoe in for at least 30 points, 8+ rebounds and a couple of assist.

3. No turnovers for Chauncey. Chauncey will come out and be Chauncey. Hit key threes when the team needs it and give on ZERO turnovers.

This will be the best game played by the Nuggets so far in the series. Big Nuggets win tonight. My prediction: Nuggets 110 Lakers 99

Game 2 and the WWE

Well, after last night great game, I’m jacked up on

Red Bull and ready for game 3 at the can.  Do I wish I had tickets for that game.  Nuggets showed last night that they are different that the 5 previous seasons.  They did

n’t let a early let down get the best of them and they fought to the end and did it pay off.  After getting smacked around in the first quarter, I honestly thought it was over and the

Nuggets just were not going to show for the rest of the game.  I’m glad they proved me wrong.  Keys to the big win…

1. LK.  That’s right, Linas

freaking Kleiza actually made 3-pointers!  Something he had not done all year long.  He was the X factor in game 2 and helped a struggling bench give the team the spark it needed.

2. Melo’s D.  Melo is dominating on both ends of the floor, but it’s the defense that is making him a superstar in these playoffs.  Keeping Kobe in check during the 4th gave us the chance to win.  He is becoming unstoppable and so much fun to watch.

3. 2nd Quarter run.  The 14-2 run the Nuggets had at the end of the 2nd gave them the confidence going into the half to win the game.  They kept it close from there on out and lead to the victory.  How much can you say about Chancey’s pass off of Kobe’s back and lays it in.  GW throw back!  I loved it.

Game 3 will be insane.  I honestly don’t see how the Nuggets can lose at home if they play the same as they did in L.A.  I see all the games close, but the Nuggets can and will hold the Lakers off and should be up 3-1 after Monday night.

A little side note, about the WWE and the Denver Nuggets.  To the WWE, specifically the idiot that runs WWE, Vince McMahon or as I like to call him, Roid McRoid.  Yea.  Now, to the idiots that watch this garbage.  Shut up.  It really makes me angry about this whole thing.  Calling the Nuggets bad business people and such.  Look at it this way you moron.  The date was set when the Nuggets were garbage and before the A.I./Chauncey trade went down.  It was actually genius that the Nuggets did let WWE use the arena.  No one thought the Nuggets would get this far, but they did, and the NBA playoffs trumps your fake WWE garbage.  Shut up, get over it, and have fun in L.A. with your loser event.  Im glad they kicked you out of Denver and I hope you idiot don’t bring that garbage back to Colorado.

Go Nuggets.

Game 2: Nuggets@Lakers

Big game tonight and is a must win for the Nuggets.  Trailing one game to zero most of us Nugget fans think we should be up 1 on the Lakers.  Oh well, no one said it would be easy or thought it would be easy.  The Nuggets will control tonight’s game.  They controlled game one with exception to the bad mistakes made at the end, we should have one.  BUT we didn’t.  Thanks okay too.  The Nuggets will take tonight’s game by at least 6 points and Melo will continue to dominate.  No one can cover him and the team will bring the momentum home.  This was my pre-game post.. just some thoughts.  What do you think?  Go Nuggets!

Nuggets Lose out on a chance to steal game 1

Well, game one is over and the Nuggets are looking up hill after a tough 105-103 to L.A. last night at Staples Center.  The Nuggets controlled and lead the majority of the game.  This is what I think caused the Nuggets to lose this game.

1. Missed free throws.  I’m sorry, but when Chauncey Billups, Mr. Big shot himself, misses tree free throws in a row you know it’s not looking good.  It seems to me that when one player starts missing, they all start missing and they also can make all of them.  Missing 12 total free throws in a western conference playoff game is inexcusable and cannot happen again in the playoffs.  Free throws are key and were a major factor in the loss Tuesday night.

2. Giving up the 3 ball.  They game the Lakers too many open 3-point shots and L.A. made them.  The rotation at times was poor which lead to the wide open 3’s that the Lakers knocked down with ease.  A key adjustment for game 2 will be rotation and covering the guy outside the 3-point line.

3. Kobe.  He went off in the 4th quarter and no one could stop him.  Melo did a great job at some points against Kobe, but Kobe will be Kobe and if he wants to score, he will score.  Dante Jones did okay on him in the game, but really didn’t get in his head like he did with Chris Paul in round 1.

Being more aggressive will be key in game 2.  Nene and Kenyon shut down the bigs of L.A. and if they play that way against them in game 2, make the adjustments to fix the problems I listed above, the Nuggets will win game 2.  The Nuggets came out with a lot of energy and was definitely more active in the first quarter and got out to a big lead.  A small let down and missed opportunities lead to the tough loss.

What do you guys thing?  What should the Nuggets do to play better in game 2?  Let me know!

Game Note:

J.R. Smith has a sprained knee and is day to day right now after a collision at the end of the game when trying to rebound his own missed free throw.

The time is NOW

Here we are, game day.  The WCF is uppon us and is this going to be a great series or what.  The Denver Nuggets, who are hotter than the fires of hell, and the Los Angeles Lakers who barley got by the Houston Rockets.  Now you say, barley? They killed the Rockets in game 7.  Yea, but it went game 7 against the Rockets so, ya, they barley got by.  I believe the Nuggets are ready, they are focused, and they have a will to win greater than any other team in the final 4.  Melo is playing as Syracuse Melo and is almost impossible to stop.  With Billups running this team like a well oiled machine, I see know way anyone stopping it.  Now, you have all heard or read the "experts" saying the Lakers will take this in 6 or 7.  Im telling you, they all work for ESPN and are pressured by the insanly annoying ESPN push for Kobe V LeBron.  This will not be as easy for the Nuggets by any means, but the Lakers are not as good as all the "experts" think.  The Lakers are soft, weak, and only show up when they have to.  The only player that has a drive to win on that team is Kobe.  The difference is, the Denver Nuggets come out to play every game.  They have gone 8-2 in the playoffs so far and the only loses combined 4 points.  They won big and lost small.  The point being, they are in every game they play.  They have not been embarassed like the Lakers have been this post-season.  This is not the Nuggets of old, this is the Chuncey Billups run Denver Nuggets.  No more selfish ball, and all fire.  I am 2 for 2 already this postseason by picking the Nuggets in 5 against the Hornets and Dallas.  I will get the 3 peat here, Nugz in 6.  Lets do this thing!

Game 7* - Sunday, May 31, 6:30 p.m. (ABC)

*  If necessary

Lets get this done!

Im sick of it already!

This whole Kobe vs. LeBron is already pissing me off and the Lakers are barley surviving against the Rockets!  Im sorry NBA, more specificly, David Stern, its not gunna happen.  The Lakers are unmotivated and dead in the water.  They will be very lucky to get past Houston and will not stand a chance against the intensity of the Denver Nuggets.  Ya, we've stuggled against the Lakers this year except for out Laker beat down we had earlier this year at the Pepsi center.  We're in a whole new season though, its the NBA playoffs.  The Nuggets and take one from the Lakers on their home court and give us the home court needed to get to the finals.  The Nuggets are have been unbeatable at home since March and I dont see that changing any time soon.  My question to the NBA, why not Melo vs LeBron if you'r trying to market players.  Two players that came out in the same draft, the number one overall and the number three overall.  I'm telling you, that would be an amazing series and could go 7 games easily.  We'll talk about that when we get there.  Im just tired of the NBA and this whole Kobe/LeBron bull they are pulling and the Lakers are struggling to get out of the second round.  I'm looking forward to the game 7's tomorrow and should be exciting.

Baby Blue Wreckin Crew

Well, i'v spent about the last 3 or so hours making these shirts.  Birdman is in the works.  For now I have made Melo, Chaunsey, K-Mart, and J.R.  I got the wreckin crew idea from the local radio station, FM 104.3 The Fan in Denver.  These are sweet shirts and perfect for this amazing playoff run!  LETS GO NUGGETS!

West Finals, here we come

How exciting was last nights game!?  So amazing.  I wish I were there to see the game, or any playoff game, but at least I get to watch them on TV.  As I called the last series, I take this time to pat myself on the back for once again predicting the Dallas seires....... Ahh that feels good.  Nuggets won in 5 baby and this is so much fun.  After going so long without getting out of the first round, this team is playing not for themselves, but for the team and us fans who have supported them through all the years.  As exciting as this is, were only half way there.  Tonight, if the Lakers win, we will play them on Sunday afternoon (hopefully on ABC).  I will assume that the Lakers will win tonight, I just dont think that the Rockets, as good as they are, can keep up with Lakers.  I will hold off on my prediction untill Sunday before the game on my Twitter.  Great game, I don't want to get to ahead of myself.  Although this is the first Conf. finals since 1985 (before i was born), we're 8 down 8 to go for the ultimate goal, bringing an NBA championship to Denver.  Let us celebrate the success of the Nuggets so far and it doesn't stop here, it stops when we beat Cleavland in the FINALS!  Do work nugz, you have Denver behind you.

Nuggets tight loss and Clint Hurdle?

Last nights Nuggets game was pretty entertaining and disapointing at the same time.  You could just tell after the first quarter that the Nugz thought they already had this one.  They hit several 3 pointers and were scoring at will and when the Nuggets are not playing the right way and like the Nuggets of old, you just know there will be a let down untill at least the 4th quarter.  That is what happend, although the Nuggets led most of the game, ticky tack fouls plus the missing presents of the Birdman led to a late game loss.  Really, I didn't think they would take this one.  I thought the Nuggets would win in 5 and should easily win on Wednesday at the can.  The real drama was with Kenyon Martin vs. Dallas fans.  From all that I have read so far this morning, it was a full game of K-mart being K-mart and telling the fans how it is.  I love K-mart, he's not one of thoes players who just talks a lot of crap with nothing to back it up, oh, he backs it up.  Reports have K-mart dropping lots of F-bombs to the fans and taking it very personal.  I don't blame K-mart for doing any of this.  I know I would.  The fans harassing not only Kenyons mom, but his girlfriend, and even Melos fiance, Lala.  Wow Dallas, keep it classy.  I mean, I guessed i'd be pissed if we have gone 0-7 against a team in one season.  No excuses, Dallas has the worst fans in the NBA, along with the most unclassy Owner.  Its intersting that Mr. Cuban won't be attending the game here in Denver on Wednesday to convienently accept some award.  I would guess maybe an insider trading of the year award?  Maybe a best camera man push of the year award.  Either way, I just find it interesting he won't go to Denver.  It's okay Mark, your safe to come watch your team lose.  You see, us Denver fans know basketball and are very classy.  We won't harrass your players familys or anything low like that.  Oh, we will talk junk, but we're allowed to talk junk.  We are 7-1 against you this year Dallas.  We own you and were gunna send you back home to where you belong.

Now, I wanted to just address something I read this morning about Clint Hurdle and the idiot owner who run the Rockies.  During a phone interview to the Denver Post, owner Dick Monfert said that there have been no talks about Clint being fired and no plans.  Wow, what can I say.  Is this just a cover for whats to come.  If the Rockies lose this next series agaist a pathetic Houston team, will Hurdle be fired?  He should.  If you read my posts, i'm not just saying he should be fired because of this year.  I'm talking about all years.  His only winning season was 2007 and that was a fluke!  How can a man manage a team for over 8 years and lose every year, and just say the same thing, "were just not consitant enough."  Obviously you moron.  You would know about consistancy.  You have been consitantly losing in Denver since you got here.  Just do the job, if you fire him now, I won't care if we tank the season becuase I know we are doing something to try to win.  But if you just keep losing with the same crap, you don't care about the team of the fans.  I call all TRUE Rockies fans to continue to boycott this team.  Stop buying tickets, merchandise, anything Rockies, do not buy it.  They do not deserve your hard earned money when the continue to sell us crap.  It can't be tolorated.  Go Rockies

Nuggets win in a crazy fashion!

Note to the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff, don't assume ANYTHING.  With the NBA saying they made a mistake in not calling a foul on Antoine Wright right before Carmelo Anthoney or as I like to call him, Mr. Clutch, drilled a 3 pointer to put the Nuggets up by one with one second left.  Now, if you look at the video below, you will see the aleged "intentional foul" that Wright gives Melo.  Im sorry, but if you go to intentionaly foul someone, you can't just reach in and then raise your arms like you didn't touch him.  Are you serious?  I only played a little high school ball and know if you're going to foul someone intentionaly, you bear hug them and MAKE the ref see you are obstructing him.  You don't tap him on the arm and let him take a shot that could win the game.  Dallas, you are just tired, tired of getting run up and down the floor.  Ill admit, we stole that game.  We shot horrible, but in a game that had 61 fouls called, you have to make sure you get nuber 62.  Unprepared teams make supid mistakes and what Wright did was a very stupid mistake and if Dallas is going to blame anyone, blame yourselves.  Blame yourselves for not coaching your players properly and showing how to make an intentional foul!  Now were gunna hear endless trying from Mark Cuban, who is a discrace to this league.  Im sure he was "tweeting" away on this one, I for one have not yet checked out his blog but really am interested what he will cry about.  Hey Mark, maybe you should start doing research on coaches.  You fired Sean Avery why again?  He was a great coach and you're ego got in the way of that and you fired him.  I mean, not the fact that your team is garbage and all you really have is Dirk.  Without him, you are nothing more that a 40 win team at best.  Shut up, take the loss.  Dallas was getting ALL THE CALLS in this game before the last second. Birdman was out with 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Very ticky tacky calls. Maybe you will win on Monday, but probably not. Denver is better than you, Denver is on 7-0 against the Mavs this season. Enough said. Series over and your Denver Nuggets will be going to the Western Conference Finals to play the Lakers. I assume the Lakers because well, they are the better team and Yao is now out for the post season. Can the Nuggets beat L.A., of course they can. L.A. is soft and really all they have is Kobe. The Nuggets are the team to beat in the west. Ill talk more about that when we get to that series. Outlook for this Mavs series, well, I hope the Nuggets sweep. We can get the rest and stay lose by playing eachother. I don't see anything like what happend to the Rockies in 2007 with their layoff. Baseball is completely different. The Nuggets can do this! Everyone lets hear it! LETS GO NUGGETS! All the way to the Finals baby!

Will this season end already!

So far, its only been about one and a half months into the MLB season and as a Rockies fan, when will this season end.  I don't see them going on any run, turning it around and making a run at the division, even though Manny's gone till July.  The pitching is not there.  Their hitting is just good enough to win games, but the pitching is not consistant enough to win.  Yesterday after noon, I felt good about the Rockies and maybe they would beat Matt Cain after desroying Randy Johnson the night before.  Plus, the only pitcher who has done anything this year, Jason Marquis was on the bump.  Like most of the season, when you think they might do something, they do nothing.  They got run by Benji Molina and could not hit when they needed to, you know, when there are multiple people on the bases.  Cain couldn't seem to throw a strike at all, yet we couldn't hit our way out of a wet paper bag.  Im sick of it.  We all see that Arizona fired Melvin after a start similar to the Rockies.  Arizona has won a World Series, they know what it takes to win a championship.  They canned him becuase they did not like where the team is heading.  This makes me think even more that the Rockies really don't care about winning and perhaps think that the team is going in the right direction with Clint Hurdle as manager.  He can't decide on who should close out games, even though it doesn't matter, because one of them will find away to blow the game.  Why is it just between thoes two?  Why Corpus or Street?  Why not give it to someone else, at this point, you have nothing to lose, well, that is another game by less than two runs.  Please Colorado Rockies, for us fans who have been following since 1993 and grown up to follow this team, we need a new start.  I will not mind a "rebuild" of the front office.  Clint Hurdle, Dan O'dowd, and Bob Apadaca should be the first on the list of "to be fired" list.  We need better scouts when looking at bullpen pitchers.  Every year, its always the bullpen that is blowing games for us.  It needs to be done and it needs to be done now.  I'v said in a previous post, I will not attend any more games untill major changes are made.  I suggest you all do the same.  Go Rockies.

Oh no.. Its been a wile!

Hey everyone, sorry its been crazy lately... Bother moved in with me, Finals at school. With a little downtime at the moment, its time to catch up on some Colorado Sports

  • Nuggets

  • After a convincing series win over the Hornets, the Nuggets look like an actual NBA playoff team! What do I mean by that? They are playing Defense! Thats right, the Denver freaking Nuggets are playing Defense. Its not just Chauncey playing the D, Melo is playing amazing D, K-mart is shutting down all players he covers. Bird Nation is swatting balls into the 15th row of the lower level of the Pepsi Center. This team is the most exciting thing iv seen since the 2007 Rockies in the playoffs. They are a TEAM. FINALLY! They are learning from our number 7 that defense makes offense. They knew they could play offense, now they know they can play defense. I did update the Twitter before this Dallas series and made my pick of the Nuggets in 5. I think the Mavs will take game 4 and avoid the sweep but won't stand a chance coming back to Denver for game 5. So Mark Cuban can blog about that, make up stories about elbows and running to mid court after his team gets smacked out of the playoffs. NOTE K-Mart was fined 25K by the NBA for a love tap to Dirk in the first quarter of game one. Pocket change right K-mart?

  • Rockies

  • Well, Clint Hurdle is still holding on to his job for some reason and the Rockies are still winless in games decided by 2 runs or less. Basically, we have the worst bullpen in the league. I do feel for Clint in that he has to go back in forth from Huston Street, who either has the gas and Manny Corpus, who has they lighter as a closer. Jimenez is 1-4.... Wow, if you think about his first start of the season burning by Arizona, you would think that he should be 5-0 or 6-0. I think I figured out why the Rockies don't pay players! Lets look at it. The two big names that have signed extensions with the Rox are Tulo and Jimenez. After Tulo signing his big 6 year deal was injured all first half of the year last year and hasn't done anything this year. Jimenez signing an extension this year has taken steps back in his progress and perhaps needs a small wake up call in Colorado Springs with the Sky Sox. Helton is now stepping it up and hitting the cover off the ball, hitting over .400 in the past 2 weeks. How Bob Apodaca still has his job is so over my head its insane. The Rockies fired the bench coach, yeah, I can see how what he does set us back. What does a bench coach do again? We fire the third base coach, yes yes, this one is the best, he was stopping players that could have scored runs that would have put us in the playoffs, right? No, it wasn't the blown saves by Fuentes and Corpus all year long, or the crap play we saw by Jeff Francis and the other starting pitcher. Sorry, if anyone should have been fired in the off-season, and should be fired right now, it should be Bob Apodaca. Ill stop ranting about that now, we won last night and finish the pointless 2 game series in San Diego tonight at 8:30 mountain.

  • Broncos

  • I haven't talked about the Broncos at all in this blog since it was started. Why you ask? Well, I hate the year long NFL coverage. I hate the draft, everyone is always unhappy with the picks then these rookies who have never set foot in a NFL game get millions in money. Hey, who says they don't get paid for playing in College. I thought it was weird that the Broncos took a running back with their first pick but I think I know what happened. Mike Shanahan still knows Broncos information and so when it was their turn to pick, Mike picked up the phone from his house, dialed the number to whoever you give the pick to and as the greatest prank of all time, drafted a running back with their first pick knowing very well that they needed nothing but defense in this draft. Thats just what I think. The greatest prank ever to a franchise turning into the biggest joke of the NFL. More on the Broncos when its closer to the season!!!!!

Well, my hands are now cramping up and this is the most iv typed in years. This is my last week of school and since I don't make any money from this site, I must find a summer job in Colorado Springs. Any suggestions?? Really, anything would help. Talk to you tomorrow after the big game 2 win for the Nugz!
