Its Time...

Well, here we are.  4-8, 5.5 games back and in the basement of the NL west.  Tonights game is a breaking point for the rest of the season.  Some may think that is rediculus to say that in April, but if the Rockies lose this series, I don't see them stepping up in August and September and making up the consistant poor play in April.  The Dodgers are obviously going to win this division pending any season ending injuries from their main players.  Dan O'Dowd has not done anything for this franchise but continuing to put the team back years.  When you take every chance you can get to trade away your expierenced players for a coin flips chance that we will get something fair in return will never get a team anywhere.  Even Chaunsey Billups said it the other night, he would take expierence over talent any day because thoes expeirenced players have been there.  All Dan O'dowd does is trade key pieces to a potientialy good team.  All respect to Todd Helton, but if his contract was not so large, he would have been gone years ago.  Its time Monforts, its time to fire Dan O'Dowd and Clint Hurdle.  In the almost 8 years as Rockies manager, he has done NOTHING.  And yes, I put the 2007 run in that as well becuase as we have all seen, that was a fluke.  His career record as manager is 520-605.  Thats is a .462 winning percentage!  It is insane that he has kept his job this long.  Any SERIOUS baseball owners would have fired him after 4 losing seasons.  Hurdle has only had ONE winning season, 2007.  If it was not for an unreal season ending run, that season would have been a losing one.  One playoff appearance and nothing close to a championship.  Denver is a great sports town and these front office people of the Rockies continue to spit in our faces by feeding us crap about "young and upcoming players" and trading away the only hope we had of a decent team.  I one day dream of having the money to purchace the Rockies, with this ownership group, its obvious they are only in it for the money and if I could name the right price, it would be all mine.  I dont see that happening, but if they care about this team and us as fans who continue to go to the games and spend our lifesavings on tickets, parking, food, ect... they will make the right choices and fire Clint Hurdle and Dan O'Dowd because this team needs a wake up call.  Im sick of being a fan of MLB's unoffical farm team.  The Rockies can sure create a monster, all star type of player, only to trade him as soon as possible.  I will be attending the Sunday game against the Dodgers on the April 26th.  If the Rockies continue on blowing wins and fall deeper in th
e division, I will no longer be going to games untill major changes are made to this team.  We are fans who want to love the Rockies, but it's hard to love something that consistantly spits in your face anytime you try to show some support.
