Nuggets Game 5 Preview and ... well, the Rockies

Here we go again, game 5 tonight at 7 Mountain Time in Los Angeles.  What Nuggets team will come out to play tonight?  Game 3 Nuggets or game 4 Nuggets?  I think the game 4 Nuggets will be coming out tonight in full force tonight at put their foot on the Lakers throat.  This of course would set up a close out game on Friday night for game 6. (This of course, is what I predicted)  Anyways, the Nuggets youth and style of play are wearing out the Lakers and after tonight, they will not have a chance.  We are too physical for the softy Lakers and so much in their heads it’s not even funny.  What the Nuggets need to do tonight?

1. Close the quarter.  The Nuggets have to play their best ball tonight in the last 2 minutes of each quarter.  If we have a lead, we need to extend it.  The Nuggets should play this game as if it were a close out game.  Take the will away from the Lakers and the talent will take over and beat the Lakers.

2. Bench Play.  We need the bench play we got in game 4.  We need J.R. Smith playing strong defense and hitting big shots when we need them the most.  LK needs more playing time, he’s proven this series that he can be trusted and is making the difference.  The 2 games we have won so far this series, LK has had a significant impact on the game, weather it may be hitting big 3 pointers or grabbing rebounds and playing D.

3.  Melo has to be better.  I know he was sick last game but we cannot have another game where he is a non factor.  He is the star and needs to play like it tonight.  He doesn’t need to score 30 like he has been, he just needs to play a good game of basketball.  20 points, 5

assist, and 10 rebounds.  Get those second chance points; pass the ball to the open J.R. or Chauncey after you drive the lane.  Doing the little things will lead to big plays.

We all know that the Lakers have been complaining about the calls and the NBA knows it.  They assessed Jones with a flagrant 1 after “tripping” Kobe in game 4.  I was happy to see that one Phillip Jackson was fined $25,000 by the NBA for complaining about the refs.  Nuggets win tonight, 101-99.

Now, to the Colorado Rockies, talk about opposite ends of the spectrum here, talking about the Nuggets to the Rockies.  The Rockies lost again to the Dodgers last night and as everyday passes, I scratch my head harder wondering how someone such as Clint Hurdle still is employed!  Congratulations Clint Hurdle, Dan O’dowd, and the Monferts.  We have the LARGEST division deficit in MLB.  13 games out and not even in June yet.  Now really, I don’t expect the Rockies to be that far back until at least the All Star break.  The type of baseball they are playing is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.  Why are people still walking in to Coors Field to watch this garbage?  I know im not and won’t

be any time soon, that’s for sure.  I’v heard rumors of Brad Hawpe on the selling table!  Yea, great idea Rockies, we suck, so lets get rid of one of our better talents.  Yea, yea, I bet we could get like 2 minor league prospects!  We only got 3 for Matt Holliday so we couldn’t get much more for Brad Hawpe.  Heres my plan.

1. Blow up the front office.  Fire everyone.  Start from scratch. Call up triple-A.

2. Help Todd Helton out of this furnace.  I feel so bad for Todd, he’s come back from a bad back problem and hitting the cover off the ball.  He’s doing everything he needs to and he gets nothing.  Trade Todd somewhere where they actually play to win some baseball games.  Where ever you go Todd, I’ll buy a hat.

3.  Is there a way, us as fans could maybe impeach the ownership and run these greedy idiots  out of Denver?  There has to be a way.  That’s right, STOP GOING TO THE GAMES!  Don’t go to the games, don’t buy merchandise, don’t give your hard earned money to these greedy idiots that don’t care what they put out on the field.  They just care about all that money that goes in their pocket.

Something must be done!

Go Nuggets : Go Rockies
